    ### Minnekhada Regional Park Hike We will start our hike at 8:45a.m **All fitness levels are welcome — easy to intermediate.** Minnekhada Regional Park is a 200+ hectare park located in Coquitlam, BC. It offers more than 10 km of hiking trails, a fantastic lookout, and a beautiful marsh filled with diverse flora and fauna. With forests, marshes, and rocky outcrops, this regional park is a wonderful place to explore at any time of year. The network of quiet trails provides great opportunities for hiking and wildlife watching. The park is also home to **Minnekhada Lodge**, a 1930s country estate with spectacular views of the Pitt River. ### Trails * **Lodge Trail:** Surfaced with loose gravel, with a steep slope of approximately 18% for 12 m, followed by additional sections with slopes of around 12%. * **Cliff Trail:** Has a natural soil surface with several steep sections. * **Meadow Trail:** Surfaced with loose gravel and includes some steep sections, including a 14.3% slope for approximately 9.4 m. Roots, rocks, and other obstacles may create challenges for some hikers. * **Log Walk Trail:** A narrow trail with a packed-dirt surface. * **Quarry Trail:** A narrow trail with a packed-dirt surface and some steep sections. * **High Knoll Trail:** Includes several steep sections and stone steps. The beautiful view from the top makes the climb worthwhile. * **Low Knoll:** A short diversion offering a lovely overlook of the marsh. * **Fern Trail:** A pleasant woodland walk with some minor elevation gain. 🌿 **Please remember to stay on the designated trails and help us preserve this wonderful natural habitat. Enjoy the hike!** ### Important Safety Information **What to Wear & Bring:** 🥾 **Waterproof Hiking Boots/Shoes:** The trails near the marsh can be very wet and muddy. You may also encounter tree roots, rocks, and uneven surfaces. 👕 **Comfortable Clothing:** Wear moisture-wicking clothing and avoid cotton when possible. 🧥 **Extra Layers:** Bring a light rain jacket and a warm fleece or puffy jacket, as weather conditions in the forest can change quickly. 💧 **Water:** Please bring enough water for the hike. 🍎 **Snacks:** We will have some snacks at the viewpoint, but please bring anything you may need personally. ### Hiking Pace & Duration This hike is suitable for **easy to intermediate** hikers. The pace may vary depending on the group, and we may walk at a slower or moderate pace to make sure everyone can enjoy the experience. Depending on the group’s pace and how long we spend at the viewpoints, the hike may take **until around noon**.
